The Opportunity: Director, Privacy & Security, Legal
SentinelOne is looking for a technical and strategic Director of Privacy & Security, Legal to lead our global privacy and data security legal function. Reporting directly to the SVP, Deputy General Counsel, you will be the primary legal architect for how we protect data across SentinelOne platform. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will define global strategy and lead the professionals who safeguard our most critical assets and maintain the trust of thousands of global enterprises.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a global legal strategy for privacy and data security that aligns with SentinelOne’s rapid growth and product innovation.
- Work cross-functionally across the organization, supporting the Commercial team on the privacy aspects of both inbound and outbound work while collaborating closely with the Legal Product team.
- Serve as a key partner to our Security, Engineering, and IT teams, providing expert guidance on a wide range of privacy, security, and compliance matters, ensuring that legal requirements are integrated seamlessly into our technical operations.
- Lead the legal side of incident management and response, providing strategic advice and legal guidance on all types of incidents to ensure the company navigates complex security events with precision and speed.
Skills and Knowledge We're Looking For
- Legal Expertise: 10+ years of experience practicing law, with at least 5 years focused deeply on privacy and data security within the SaaS or Cybersecurity sectors.
- Commercial Savvy: Significant experience negotiating the privacy and security components of complex inbound and outbound commercial contracts.
- Leadership Experience: Experience managing a team and guiding cross-functional initiatives in a high-growth or SaaS setting.
- Technical Fluency: A deep understanding of cloud architecture, API integrations, and how data flows through a modern SaaS ecosystem; experience with AI governance and machine learning data ethics is a plus.
- Education & Admissions: J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the United States.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of global privacy laws and regulations including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other international data protection frameworks.
- Pragmatic Mindset: A pragmatic approach to law that prioritizes business enablement; you are someone who finds creative paths to growth while rigorously managing risk.
