Role Overview
Join Senator Colin Deacon in advancing national policy at the nexus of innovation, technology, competition, procurement, and regulatory modernization. As a Parliamentary Research Assistant, you will support research, analysis, and strategic communication to shape legislative priorities and policy proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on legislation, jurisprudence, and policy proposals.
- Prepare reports, background notes, and briefing documents.
- Monitor media coverage and assist with public inquiries.
- Draft speeches, presentations, and correspondence.
- Represent the Senator at committee meetings and events.
- Manage administrative tasks to ensure efficient office operations.
Prerequisites
Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field, strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency with MS Office and digital research tools, and familiarity with parliamentary procedures. Bilingualism is an asset.
