Overview

The Complex Claims Specialist role is a remote position focused on handling Specialty Claims within Management Liability (D&O, EPL, and Fiduciary). The position involves coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and disposition of assigned claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and resolve coverage issues for Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, and Fiduciary claims.
  • Investigate claims via phone, correspondence, and personal contact.
  • Present claims and trends to leadership including coverage and exposure analysis.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims within delegated authority.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to claims, underwriting, reinsurance, and actuarial teams.
  • Attend trials, mediations, and other proceedings as needed (up to 10% travel).
  • Ensure timely updates and proper referrals to reinsurers.

Qualifications

Requires a college degree; JD or MBA preferred. Minimum 8 years of claims handling experience, with substantial expertise in Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, and Fiduciary claims. Candidates must have proven skills in coverage analysis, negotiation, communication, and presentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, along with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
