Job Description

About The Company

Sekisui House is one of the world’s largest residential developers and home builders, with a heritage spanning over 60 years. In Australia, the Residential Communities & Home Building (RCHB) division delivers quality homes across NSW and QLD, working closely with the parent company Sekisui House Ltd (SHL) in Japan. Our culture is built on teamwork, customer focus and cooperation across Australian and Japanese teams.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Translator to provide professional Japanese-English translation and interpreting services across our Residential Communities & Home Building division and the Chief Technology Officer’s Corporate function. Based at our Macquarie Park office, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely communication between Japanese and Australian stakeholders — across executive meetings, site visits and business documentation.

This role also includes executive administrative support to the CTO, helping with day-to-day coordination to ensure the efficient operation of his office.

What You Will Be Doing

Translation & Interpreting
  • Providing professional Japanese-English interpreting at executive meetings, operational meetings and site visits across RCHB and Corporate
  • Translating business documents, presentations, reports, emails and memos between Japanese and English on a daily basis
  • Supporting translation for the CEO (RCHB) and the broader executive team as required
  • Attending construction site visits and providing on-site interpreting for Japanese and Australian teams
  • Liaising with the AMUD Translator to ensure consistency of translation standards across the business
  • Maintaining accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality in all translation and interpreting work
Executive Assistant Support
  • Managing the CTO’s diary, ensuring he is on time and well prepared each day
  • Organising business appointments and travel arrangements for the CTO
  • Communicating with internal and external executives, SHL employees, Board Members and clients on behalf of the CTO
  • Coordinating business unit functions, lunches and dinners
  • Preparing documents, presentations, reports and meeting minutes
  • Screening calls, fielding inquiries and escalating urgent matters
  • Supporting visiting executives from SHL Japan with scheduling, logistics and administrative coordination
  • Travelling interstate as required

About You

  • NAATI accreditation (mandatory)
  • Translation and interpretation experience in Japanese–English, both verbal and written
  • Fluent in Japanese
  • Previous experience working with C-suite executives
  • Computer literate in MS Office applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Demonstrated flexibility in working outside core business hours
  • Strong planning and organisational skills

What We Offer

  • $100,000 base salary + superannuation
  • A unique bilingual role bridging Japanese and Australian teams at the executive level
