Job Summary

The Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer is responsible for designing and releasing wiring harness assemblies and related components. The role involves coordinating the creation of 2D drawings (Capital XC) and 3D models (NX via Teamcenter), as well as validating components in both vehicle and component environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and release wiring harness assemblies and associated components.
  • Create and manage 2D drawings using Capital XC and 3D models using NX within Teamcenter.
  • Validate released components through testing in vehicle and component environments.
  • Support manufacturing and supplier facilities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage and resolve design issues from plants or suppliers.
  • Process and implement engineering change requests (ECRs) from manufacturing plants and suppliers.
  • Manage large volumes of data and update designs for current and future vehicle programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET-accredited university; minimum of 5 years of engineering experience; at least 3 years in transportation wiring design and release or vehicle electrical systems; excellent communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in a relevant field; training in DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFSS; familiarity with CAD systems (NX, Catia, Capital XC); experience in high-volume wiring manufacturing environments; familiarity with wiring harness drawings and automotive specifications; experience with web publishing and SharePoint data management.
