AI-powered workforces will have a sustained competitive advantage over the next decade, but most of the workforce is unprepared. We help organizations plan their AI transformation, upskill their workforce, and integrate AI into their workflows and business processes – all with the goal of driving real productivity gains and ROI. Our goal is to bring a million workers into the “AI class” by end of 2026.

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Director of Workforce AI to accelerate our own AI transformation journey. We have world class individual AI use – 100% adoption and 100s of custom GPTs and automations implemented. Now, we need a Director of Workforce AI to help us make AI a competitive advantage. In this role, you’ll partner with business unit leaders to build AI agents with significant impact to revenue or margin. You must be an AI power user and builder yourself, and need experience building AI-powered automations and agents.

Candidates must be U.S.-based.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, prioritize, and manage a portfolio of AI workflow automations and agents across all functions
  • Build and evaluate business cases for potential high-impact agents and automations across functions
  • Select and implement an agent orchestration platform (i.e. Google Enterprise, Glean, Sana Labs, etc.)
  • Design and rapidly prototype MVP workflows and pilots to test AI's ability to perform at required levels (cost, quality, speed)
  • Use tools like Make, Relay, Zapier, n8n, ChatGPT, Claude, and/or Gemini to create workflow automations and/or functional proofs of concept that can be scaled
  • Collaborate with functional sponsors to gather requirements, evaluate agent outputs, and ensure solutions meet business needs while managing change and adoption across teams
  • Transition validated MVPs to production-ready solutions, coordinating with data engineering and external resources as needed to integrate systems like Salesforce, Snowflake, and other enterprise platforms
  • Run quarterly working sessions with functional leaders and AI power users to surface high-impact workflows ripe for automation
  • Lead coaching and change management for business users on how to use agents or automations built for them to drive adoption of the tools you select and build
  • Serve as an internal AI expert for the rest of the Section team, sharing best practices and keeping us up-to-date on the latest models and capabilities

Who You Are

  • You’re a proven AI builder with hands-on technical skills building agents (e.g. Glean, AgentSpace, Sana) AI automation tools (e.g., Make, Relay, Claude, GPT) and traditional automation platforms (Zapier, n8n, etc.)
  • You’re obsessed with AI – you’ve redesigned all your own workflows with AI and are constantly experimenting with the latest models and capabilities
  • You can make agents a reality – you have a POV on where they’re most valuable in a startup, the best use cases, and how you’ll get get to prototype fast (30-60 days)
  • Strong analytical capabilities to develop business cases, define success criteria, and measure ROI on automation initiatives
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority, managing stakeholders from individual contributors to executives
  • Experience scoping MVPs and making pragmatic build vs. buy vs. outsource decisions
  • You’ve worked in a high-growth startup
  • BONUS: You’ve been a product manager or in a similar role owning and prioritizing a business roadmap
  • BONUS: You’ve redesigned workflows for companies or teams (particularly startups) integrating AI and automation tools
