Job Description

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the food safety and quality culture by enforcing GMPs, SOPs, PPE guidelines, HACCP, and SSOPs. The role requires manufacturing experience, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Machining experience is beneficial and bilingual skills are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and train production teams on seafood and meat quality and food safety.
  • Inspect receiving processes, monitor product dates, and report daily.
  • Implement improvement plans, perform root cause evaluations, and maintain records.
  • Train new and seasoned employees in food quality standards and procedures.
  • Lead weekly quality meetings and act as contact for quality issues.
  • Review, update, and enforce GMP, HACCP, SSOPs, and SOPs.
  • Conduct equipment swab tests, calibrations, and environmental testing for pathogens.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in food production; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience with internal auditing, CAPA, and quality methodologies.
  • Supervisory skills and experience in an industrial quality assurance environment.
  • Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and SSOP.
  • Solid computer and communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Activity

The role requires standing for long shifts, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly (occasionally 100 pounds), and navigating a production floor with safety and sanitation in mind.
