Position Overview
Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, seeks a Senior Training and Education Coordinator. This role is part of the Workforce Education and Engagement team within the People and Culture business unit. The candidate will design, coordinate, and deliver training programs while building strong cross-department relationships to drive professional development initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Training Coordination: Design and evaluate safety and technical training programs that meet organizational needs.
Collaboration & Relationship Building: Partner with leadership and stakeholders to ensure training aligns with business needs.
Project & Program Management: Lead training initiatives from planning to execution, meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
Employee Development: Assess workforce needs and implement solutions that promote growth across the employee lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement: Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend enhancements to strengthen learning outcomes.
Budget Oversight: Manage training budgets and ensure cost-effective program delivery.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, three years of experience in adult training/education administration, training project management, or educational consulting, and a current Washington State driver’s license (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire).
Desired: Demonstrated strength in relationship-building, excellent communication skills, and a growth mindset to adapt to organizational change.
Work Arrangement & Additional Information
This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, requiring onsite presence at least three days per week. The role reports to the Workforce Education and Engagement Manager. Salary ranges from $45.74 to $53.27 per hour, with comprehensive benefits offered by the City of Seattle.
