Position Summary

Join SE Health Driver Assessment & Training as a part time Occupational Therapist in Hamilton. In this role, you will provide person-centered driver rehabilitation services, conduct driving assessments (both in-clinic and on-road), and support clients in achieving their transportation goals. You will work with individuals with medical conditions or injuries, helping them determine if they can drive safely, or assisting them in regaining their driving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct driving assessments both in-clinic and on-road.
  • Provide vehicle access assessments to assist with mobility device usage.
  • Formulate goals and offer recommendations and client resources.
  • Plan and supervise client-centered driver rehabilitation programs with driving instructors.
  • Process auto insurance referrals and complete required documentation (OCF18s, assessment reports, and vehicle prescription reports).

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program and a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Maturity, confidence, and compassion to make life-altering decisions regarding community mobility.
  • Flexible, creative, self-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications and client management software.
  • A valid driver's license; knowledge of Ontario licensing requirements and auto-sector experience is a plus.
  • Experience in driver rehabilitation and vehicle modification preferred; CDR designation is an asset.
  • This role follows a hybrid work approach with in-clinic, community, and remote work.
