Overview
The Food Safety Auditor role at SCS Global Services involves conducting audits in facilities according to audit schemes and SCS protocol. The auditor travels to client sites, performs inspections, determines compliance, reviews corrective actions, and submits audit reports for review and certification. This is a contract position.
Standards and Schemes
Relevant Standards/Schemes: GMP, GDP, HACCP, HACCP.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Audit Coordination: Schedule and confirm audit dates with clients, prepare and send audit plans, book travel and related logistics, and submit expense reports.
Audit Services: Adhere to quality and code of conduct standards, conduct audits using checklists/forms/tools, maintain client relationships, and submit complete audit reports on time. Maintain thorough client records.
Program Quality and Compliance: Attend trainings to remain qualified, maintain training records, update knowledge on regulations and standards, and prepare clients for the audit process.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with third-party certification processes
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Database systems
- Willingness to travel up to 75%, mostly overnight throughout the US and Canada
- University degree or relevant studies in related fields; 2-day HACCP course and PCQI Training Certificate
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
Work Environment
This position is remote (home based office) with travel to client sites across the US and Canada. Work environments include processing equipment sites, chemical storage facilities, and temperature-extreme locations.
