About the role
- Senior Core Engineer role, fully remote (U.S.-based), working on the Platform Engineering Team. Must have 3-5 years of experience.
- $110K–$150K base salary (Mid-Level Engineers: $80K–$100K), plus outstanding benefits and the opportunity to work on one of the industry's fastest-growing enterprise AI platforms.
- Lead the development of key systems within The Firm's enterprise AI agent platform, including orchestration, memory, retrieval, tool execution, guardrails, and observability.
- Design and build highly scalable backend services that power production AI agents deployed across enterprise environments.
- Apply strong system design principles and clean architecture to develop maintainable, reliable, and high-performance platform components.
- Own services throughout their lifecycle—from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Mentor junior engineers while collaborating closely with Product, Applied AI, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering teams.
- Participate in architecture reviews, engineering standards, and technical decision-making that shape the future of The Firm's platform.

As the company continues its rapid growth toward becoming a category leader in enterprise AI, The Firm is seeking an experienced Senior Core Engineer to help build the engine that powers the entire platform.
The Platform Engineering Team develops the foundational technology behind every AI agent—including orchestration, memory, retrieval, tool execution, guardrails, observability, and platform services that enable secure, enterprise-grade deployments.

What You'll Do
- Lead development of mission-critical systems within the enterprise AI agent platform.
- Design scalable backend services using modern software engineering principles and clean
- architecture.
- Build highly reliable platform components that support production AI workloads.
- Develop cloud-native services deployed in AWS and other enterprise environments.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and applied AI teams to deliver enterprise-grade
- capabilities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership across the engineering
- organization.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews.
- Continuously improve platform reliability, scalability, observability, and performance.
- Help define engineering best practices across the Platform Team
What You'll Need
- Strong Python development experience with exceptional backend engineering skills.
- Proven experience building complex backend or platform systems in production environments.
- Excellent understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, and system design.
- Experience operating cloud-native applications using AWS (or similar cloud platforms).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating across multiple engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
Nice to Have
- Experience building AI agents or LLM-powered applications.
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience with agent orchestration, memory systems, Text2SQL, or AI guardrails.
- Experience with Go.
- Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval systems.
- Experience with observability platforms including logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.
