Overview

The Food Safety & Quality Technician role at Scoular focuses on ensuring food safety compliance and quality standards through monitoring, inspections, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct verification/monitoring checks and cGMP audits throughout production to ensure FSQ requirements.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections each morning including visual, environmental, and sanitation checks.
  • Collect samples and complete microbiological, chemical, and functional parameter tests.
  • Assist FSQ Management and Team with continuous improvement and corrective action investigations.

Working Environment

  • Work indoors in a cooled, sanitary environment (45°F or below).
  • Frequent exposure to loud production equipment and occasional outdoor conditions.
  • Occasional work at high, precarious places (e.g., the roof).

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required; college degree preferred in a related field.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a related food industry position preferred.
  • Experience with HACCP, SQF, or FSMA is preferred.
  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
