Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Control & Defense

About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Control & Defense at Scotiabank is a key member of the Cyber Security organization. You will lead the design, building, and deployment of web security policies and mentor junior analysts. You will represent the team during cyber security incidents and investigations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development, tuning, maintenance and deployment of web security policies.
• Design and implement policy changes to support security objectives.
• Troubleshoot access issues and guide end-users on security best practices.
• Provide technical leadership in incident resolution and process improvements.
• Document cases, procedures and actions in a clear and consistent manner.
• Respond to audit, compliance, and IT risk teams’ requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security processes bank-wide.
• Continuously learn and adapt to emerging cyber security threats.

Skills & Experience

Candidates should have 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in deploying enterprise scale web proxy technologies, a post-secondary degree in computer science or related fields and proficiency in networking concepts (HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, TCP, UDP, SSH). Experience with log analysis, SIEMs, command-line tools, coding in Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell, and familiarity with Windows and Linux OS are required. Excellent communication skills in English, with Spanish as an asset, are also important.
