Key portfolios for this role include content creation, project management, reporting, and the development of comprehensive communications strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage communications projects from inception to completion, including defining objectives, scope, timelines, managing risks, executing, and evaluating post-delivery.
  • Lead editorial planning and content governance for all IGTB channels, maintaining calendars, securing approvals, ensuring version control, and preparing audit-ready documentation.
  • Develop high-quality written communications such as executive messages, announcements, presentations, briefing notes, speaking remarks, campaign content, and social media posts.
  • Source and develop engaging content for various Scotiabank channels, including newsroom, social media, and others.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and insights to inform communications decisions, measure effectiveness, track engagement, and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Build and maintain robust reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance summaries to provide leadership visibility and support informed decision-making.
  • Oversee and maintain SharePoint and other related collaboration platforms, ensuring they function as central hubs for communications content, reporting, channel management, and audit support.
  • Ensure that all communications processes, documentation, and controls adhere to internal governance, risk, and compliance requirements, maintaining alignment with global and regional communications partners.
  • Coordinate and support internal events, covering planning, logistics, communications materials, post-event reporting, and follow-ups.
  • Represent IGTB communications in various working teams and during periodic cross-functional status meetings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships within Global Corporate Affairs to advance the team’s communications objectives.
  • Understand and apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities and decisions.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, confidential, or business-critical information.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequate adherence to day-to-day business controls to meet obligations regarding operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:

  • A post-secondary degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in internal or corporate communications, with a preference for experience within a financial services environment.
