Principal UX Designer-Monopoly Go!

Scopely is seeking a Principal UX Designer to join the Monopoly Go! team. This role offers flexibility, allowing for a hybrid work arrangement at our Culver City studio hub or remote work from anywhere within the United States or Canada.

What You Will Do

As a hands-on Principal UX Designer, you will collaborate with feature teams to develop new mini-game experiences for players. Your work will focus on driving engagement, introducing novelty, and fostering deeper in-game social connections.

  • Identify and explore new mini-game experience opportunities.
  • Lead discovery initiatives to understand player preferences and abilities for new game mechanics.
  • Drive the ideation of new concepts, facilitating brainstorming sessions, and creating conceptual designs and prototypes for testing new ideas.
  • Innovate existing mini-games by reimagining experiences and surprising players, while adhering to UX pillars and product vision.
  • Contribute to frameworks ensuring UX consistency and integrity across mini-games, balancing novelty with shared guidelines.
  • Champion user testing within the UX process, collaborating with the research team to identify risks, determine priorities, and produce testing materials.
  • Deliver comprehensive designs and documentation to effectively communicate player experience to development teams.
  • Own working group results, ensuring alignment to vision and goals, and solving cross-domain challenges.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of professional games UX design experience.
  • Proven track record in creating impactful social gameplay features, demonstrating deep expertise in game mechanics, player motivations, rewards, and framing.
  • Proficiency in developing innovative features, adapting processes based on project complexity and novelty.
  • Expertise in creating and utilizing prototypes for testing and refining gameplay, with a focus on rapid iteration and improvement.
  • Ability to navigate between immediate design challenges and higher-level design principles, ensuring tactical execution aligns with strategic goals.
  • Highly collaborative and expert communicator who actively shares ideas, seeks feedback, and drives iterative design toward consensus.
