About the Role
As a Lead Game Designer - Sandbox, you will join a skilled development team working on a new AAA multiplayer action game using Unreal 5. You will be responsible for creating engaging moment-to-moment gameplay including combat, camera, and traversal systems, for millions of players.
What You Will Do
- Understand player needs and motivations to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with project leads and designers to create engaging gameplay.
- Brainstorm and document gameplay mechanics with your team.
- Work with cross-discipline teams to create accessible, compelling features.
- Produce and update concise game specs and iterate designs.
- Playtest continuously to improve gameplay experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with combat and movement systems for long-term engagement.
- Expertise in large and complex gameplay systems and progression vectors.
- A collaborative, self-motivated attitude in a multicultural team.
- Knowledge of designing and modeling features for live games.
Bonus Points
- Experience in MMO, Action RPG, or similar design genres.
- Exposure to social gameplay and Unreal Engine.
Compensation & Benefits
For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA, base pay ranges from $169,600 to $253,000 USD. Additional benefits include equity, bonuses, comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, pet insurance, and unlimited paid time off.
