Key Account Manager - Energies & Chemicals
Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic Key Account Manager (KAM) for the Energies & Chemicals sector. This role is crucial for managing and expanding strategic accounts within the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, gas, and emerging energy industries. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise in the chemical industry, exceptional consultative selling skills, and a proven ability to foster long-term relationships with C-level executives, plant managers, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
- Manage and grow key accounts across chemicals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, fertilizers, polymers, and downstream energy segments.
- Develop comprehensive account growth strategies, focusing on wallet share expansion and sustained engagement.
- Cultivate multi-level relationships with key contacts including CXOs, plant heads, project managers, procurement specialists, and R&D teams.
Business Development & Sales
- Drive order bookings, revenue growth, and improve profit margins within assigned accounts.
- Identify and pursue opportunities in brownfield and greenfield projects, plant revamps, debottlenecking, digitalization, and sustainability initiatives.
- Explore emerging energy transition areas such as green hydrogen, biofuels, CCUS, recycling, and specialty chemicals.
- Lead the entire sales cycle, from proposal development and techno-commercial negotiations to contract finalization.
Chemical Industry Specialization
- Leverage a profound understanding of chemical processes, utilities, and unit operations.
- Demonstrate exposure to industries including specialty & performance chemicals, petrochemicals & polymers, fertilizers & agrochemicals, and chlor-alkali, methanol, ammonia, hydrogen production.
- Effectively position solutions for process optimization, energy management, energy efficiency, safety, automation, compliance, and emissions reduction.
Project & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between the customer and Schneider Electric's internal teams (engineering, projects, service, finance).
- Collaborate with execution teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Proactively monitor customer feedback, manage escalations, and foster repeat business.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and significant upcoming investments.
- Provide critical insights to leadership regarding market opportunities, optimal pricing strategies, and portfolio gaps.
- Contribute actively to annual business planning and sales forecasting.

- Possess a strong end-user selling approach and a consultative solution-oriented mindset.
- Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal relationship management skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to comprehend complex chemical processes and technical solutions.
- Show financial acumen relevant to pricing, margins, and commercial terms.
- Exhibit a high degree of ownership, strategic thinking, and proactive problem-solving.
- Experience working with EPCs, technology licensors, OEMs, automation, instrumentation, or process equipment suppliers is highly valued.
- Prior exposure to large chemical complexes, refineries, gas processing plants, or energy projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Indian chemical majors and the EPC ecosystem is a plus.
