Opportunity: Part-Time Recreation Team Member at The Village of Riverside Glen

The Village of Riverside Glen is seeking a dynamic and caring Part-Time Recreation Team Member to join their vibrant team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a resident-centred social culture, delivering high-quality customer service and enriching the lives of residents through engaging recreational programs.

Shift Details & Compensation

  • Status: Part-Time
  • Shift Details: 30 hours biweekly; Week 1 - Monday 12-20, Saturday/Sunday 9-17; Week 2 - Friday 9-17
  • Hiring Rate: $19.78/hour, as per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

As a New Part-Time Recreation Team Member, You Will:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program.
  • Facilitate engaging group activities and programs for residents.
  • Document residents’ participation, engagement, and holistic well-being in programs and 1:1 activities.
  • Utilize exceptional time management skills and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Support and embrace the resident-centred social culture, providing the highest quality of customer service.
  • Work every other weekend, demonstrating commitment to continuous resident engagement.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and fellow team members.

Desired Qualifications (Asset, Not Required)

While not strictly required, candidates who possess the following will be considered an asset:

  • A diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university.
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health.
  • Familiarity with recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques, and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health.
