Scene Ideas Inc. is seeking a high-energy, positive, and enthusiastic Designer/Draftsperson with strong visual communication skills and advanced design knowledge. This role will support ongoing design projects using Vectorworks, working closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Business Development, Project Managers, and the Fabrication Manager. The ideal candidate possesses technical drawing skills, CNC machine file preparation experience, and a strong aptitude for design. This position offers a fast-paced, live-events-based business environment.

General Duties

• Support project design using Vectorworks.
• Assist sales, fabrication, and operations teams with design projects.
• Manage drawing files, including construction drawings, floorplans, and renderings.
• Prepare construction plans, elevations, and details in collaboration with project teams.
• Prepare CAD drawings for CNC router, knife, and plasma cutting machines.
• Prepare CAD drawings for third-party engineers and liaise as needed.
• Create 3D CAD models for scale models, set pieces, and molds.
• Develop collateral and marketing materials for bids and sales submissions.
• Design custom-built rental inventory products.
• Follow safety standards and maintain a positive team atmosphere.

Skills & Experience Requirements

• Post-secondary education in CAD Technology, Graphics, or Communications Technology is an asset.
• Mandatory Vectorworks proficiency.
• Proficient computer skills on PC and Mac, including Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp is beneficial but not required.
• Aptitude for learning new software.
• Independent and collaborative attitude.
