Role Overview
My client, scalr, is actively seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, AI Projects to directly collaborate with customers on high-impact AI challenges. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying production-grade software that delivers tangible business results. You will work intimately with customer data, iterating rapidly based on real-world feedback from enterprise clients.
The position encompasses the development and deployment of Generative AI and Large Language Model-powered systems, including sophisticated agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented applications. A significant focus will be on transitioning AI features from initial prototype stages to full production, with meticulous attention to reliability, thorough evaluation, and ultimately, real user adoption.
This opportunity is particularly well-suited for engineers who thrive in client-facing environments. What Scalr Is Looking For
- Strong customer focus and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript for production systems
- Experience deploying data-heavy or AI-enabled applications
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to travel occasionally, typically up to 20 percent

- Forward-deployed or direct customer-facing engineering experience
- Production experience with Machine Learning, Large Language Models, or agentic AI systems
- Frontend development experience, ideally with React
