Estimator
Scale-X Solutions, a privately-owned organization based in Sydney, Australia, specializing in concrete placement and pumping services, is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Estimator. This permanent dayshift role (9 am to 5 pm AEST, M to F) is crucial for supporting project cost estimation and quantity take-offs for concrete works. The ideal candidate will possess experience using Cubit software, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of construction estimating, preferably with a background in civil or structural engineering.
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, calculating concrete quantities, and supporting multiple projects each week, ensuring all documentation is precise and organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate concrete estimates using Cubit software.
- Perform quantity take-offs, including calculating concrete volumes and square meter measurements.
- Review project drawings and specifications to determine material and cost requirements.
- Manage and estimate 2–3 projects per week while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based estimation sheets and calculations.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure estimates align with comprehensive project requirements.
- Ensure all estimates are accurate, well-organized, and thoroughly documented for easy retrieval.
Requirements
A non-negotiable hiring requirement for this Estimator position is extensive experience using Cubit software, strong proficiency in Excel, and a deep understanding of construction estimating. A background in civil or structural engineering is highly preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in construction estimating, with a preference for concrete works.
- Proficiency in Cubit estimating software is essential.
- Proficient in using Excel for complex cost calculations and detailed data analysis.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and comprehensive specifications.
- Background in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.
