Job Description

Corporate Associate Attorney

Scale LLP, a national, fully distributed law firm, is inviting experienced attorneys to join its growing national practice. We are a firm built for high-performing attorneys who want the freedom to shape and grow their practices without the bureaucracy and overhead of traditional Big Law.

Who We Are

Founded by former tech GCs, Scale was created to rethink the traditional law firm model - removing inefficiency and outdated economics while preserving what matters most: exceptional legal work, sophisticated clients, and professional credibility. Our mission? Build the best remote law firm in the country. Scale's attorneys work for a variety of clients - from emerging ventures to mature enterprises and public companies - across Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Litigation practice groups.

Who We're Seeking

We are looking for a Corporate Associate based in the United States to support our Corporate & Securities Group. This role offers something rare: as a Scale Associate, you will have the opportunity to work directly with world-class attorneys who have practiced both in-house as Public Company GCs and in BigLaw, domestically and internationally. This opportunity involves substantial client contact and professional growth and mentoring through exposure to a wide variety of deals across clients in the defense tech, AI and Space tech areas. If you want to build your practice with real guidance and hands-on client exposure, this is the opportunity.

About You

  • 3–5 years of substantive, hands-on, law firm experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ideal background includes: general corporate representation, entity formation and corporate governance.
  • Mergers and acquisitions (including due diligence and transaction documentation).
  • Meaningful experience with venture financing transactions and general corporate matters for emerging companies of all stages.
  • Public company reporting and SEC compliance, and business succession planning.

Compensation & Opportunities

  • Base salary range: $165,000 - $205,000.
  • Quarterly bonus for meeting productivity targets.
  • Estimated total compensation: $280,000 - $330,000 at 1,800 billable hours.
  • Full benefits package.
  • Flexibility of Scale LLP’s distributed law firm model.
  • Career track emphasizing advancement, leadership, and broad exposure across Corporate matters.
  • Opportunities for connection, mentoring, best practice sharing, and client development (virtual and in-person).
