Role Overview: Marketing & Copywriting Assistant

As a Marketing & Copywriting Assistant at Scale Army Careers, you will be supporting a well-established food blog with over 800 approachable recipes. This role is crucial for day-to-day content operations, encompassing writing, content optimization, newsletter support, and social media scheduling. It requires strong writing skills, a foundational understanding of SEO, and the ability to leverage AI tools effectively to enhance, not replace, creativity. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and adept at balancing structured workflows with creative output in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Content Scheduling & Management

  • Schedule content across major platforms, including Facebook (via Meta Business Suite), Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Utilize scheduling tools to prepare and organize upcoming posts, supporting engagement and community-building efforts.
  • Maintain a consistent posting calendar, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all scheduled content.

Writing & Copy Editing

  • Write and edit both short-form and long-form content, such as blog posts, email newsletters, YouTube video scripts, and social media captions.
  • Repurpose content efficiently across various platforms, maintaining clear messaging consistent with the brand voice and tailored for specific reader segments.
  • Employ AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini to aid content creation, diligently revising outputs to meet high editorial and SEO standards.
  • Apply fundamental SEO principles, including strategic keyword usage, appropriate headers, and compelling meta descriptions, always prioritizing the reader experience.

Content Optimization & SEO

  • Update and optimize existing blog content in line with current SEO best practices, focusing on improved readability, formatting, and keyword alignment.
  • Assist in the formatting of new recipe posts, enhancing internal linking, and identifying opportunities to expand content based on reader interest or seasonal trends.
  • Conduct light keyword research and integrate findings into ongoing SEO initiatives and new content development.

Process Execution & Team Collaboration

  • Adhere to detailed checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality across all content deliverables.
  • Actively collaborate on weekly and monthly priorities, including YouTube planning, content scheduling, and campaign execution.
  • Participate in training and onboarding, demonstrating flexibility toward evolving workflows and strategic adjustments.
  • Occasionally track post performance using Google Analytics and platform-specific insights to inform future optimization strategies.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, copywriting, or content creation for blogs, newsletters, or social media.
  • Proficiency with Meta Business Suite (required).
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with Trello or similar project management tools preferred.

Skills

  • Native-level English proficiency with a warm, clear, and reader-focused writing style.
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, including keyword integration and content formatting.
  • Comfortable integrating AI writing tools into workflows without overreliance.
