The Role
The Senior Director HR Business Partner - Head Start is a senior people leader responsible for translating enterprise People & Culture strategy into measurable outcomes for highly regulated portfolios. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, handling workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, and leadership capability within the framework of Head Start and applicable regulations.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
- Strategic Business Partnership (30%): Advise senior leaders on workforce strategy, planning and change management.
- Employee Relations Management (20%): Oversee complex employee relations, investigations, and policy enforcement.
- Enterprise Collaboration & Influence (15%): Partner with COEs to deliver seamless HR solutions and innovations.
- Leadership & Capability Building (15%): Coach leaders and HR teams to uphold consistent standards.
- Risk & Compliance (10%): Ensure adherence to policies, employment law and regulatory requirements.
- Organizational Effectiveness & Change Leadership (10%): Design effective organization structures that scale and perform.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 7 years in HR or related fields. Proven track record as a trusted HR partner to senior leaders, expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, and change management. Excellent communication, influence, executive presence, and proficiency in MS Office and English.
Preferred Qualifications
SHRM-SCP, SPHR or equivalent certification; experience in large, complex, matrixed or mission-driven organizations, especially in regulated or child-serving environments.
