Overview
Save the Children, with over 100 years of fighting for children’s rights, is creating positive, irreversible change for children globally. In this role as Chief of Party USDA Food for Education Sub-Saharan Africa, you will lead strategic direction for the USDA-funded McGovern-Dole Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program.
The Role
You will oversee the management, implementation, and quality assurance of the project. Your responsibilities include providing technical leadership in school feeding, literacy, primary education, and community participation, and ensuring alignment with USDA guidelines and Save the Children standards.
- Lead program management and implementation in line with USDA guidelines.
- Oversee team operations, financial, and administrative processes.
- Deliver technical oversight ensuring compliance with donor policies.
- Manage monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes for project success.
- Develop effective partnerships with government and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
A graduate degree in a related field and at least 10 years of senior level professional experience in large, donor-funded international development projects are required. Experience with USDA McGovern-Dole guidelines, strong financial management skills, and proficiency in English is essential (French preferred).

- Direct project planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Oversight of operational, financial, and MEL processes.
- Collaborate with multiple government ministries and partners.
- Ensure technical quality and adherence to donor regulations.
