Overview
The Commissioning Consultant 2 - Construction Management position is a field assignment based out of the Southern United States. The assignment location may vary depending on the job and/or client and qualifies for per diem benefits.
Position Description
Sargent & Lundy’s Construction Management team is expanding. The role plays a pivotal part in directing and ensuring peak performance, reliability, and safety during the commissioning of client power plants. This role involves on-site work, strategic planning, and team collaboration across mechanical and electrical systems, including turbines, boilers, pumps, and generators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commissioning engineers and technicians on various projects.
- Oversee greenfield, brownfield, and operational commissioning activities.
- Coordinate system testing, troubleshooting, and integration efforts.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety departments.
- Develop and enforce commissioning protocols and procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend adjustments.
- Maintain detailed records and prepare compliance reports.
- Provide technical leadership and support to teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with a minimum of 12 years mechanical commissioning experience in the power generation sector. Strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and the ability to travel across the United States are required. Note: Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor work authorization.

Compensation Range
$142,710.00 - $215,440.00 plus eligibility for a yearly discretionary bonus.
