The Role: Working Student - JavaScript Development for Cloud Applications
As a Working Student - JavaScript Development for Cloud Applications, you will be an integral part of our SCRUM team, deeply involved in daily developer activities. You will work on real cloud software utilizing the SAP Business Technology Platform. This position offers a hands-on experience with modern development tools, including GitHub Copilot, to enhance code quality through AI-assisted refactorings, improve test coverage, and ensure code resiliency and maintainability. You will also develop QMATE tests to strengthen our automated test suite.
If you are eager to immerse yourself in JavaScript code and contribute from day one, this role is for you. You will participate fully in our daily operations, taking on responsibilities like any other team member.
What You'll Bring
- Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences.
- Preferred fields of study: Computer Science or similar.
- Computer skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript (1+ year experience), GitHub, IntelliJ.
- Language skills: Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Soft skills: A team player, creative, passionate about coding, and knowledgeable about AI and its future applications in software development.
- Others: 1+ year work experience in software development companies, familiarity with Agile Development methodologies and CI/CD working styles.
- Coming to the office is not mandatory, but attending once a week is welcome.
Where You'll Belong
Our Development Team operates across locations in Germany, the US, and the Czech Republic, focusing on innovating cloud-based access governance solutions for large-scale business environments globally. We develop agile cloud business applications with weekly deployments to customers.
This is a global, strategic, paid working student position at SAP, designed to provide students with meaningful career opportunities.
