APIs are the digital building blocks in enterprises for digitization, AI agentic tools & integration. API Management, part of SAP Integration Suite, enables its customers to secure, analyze, and scale APIs in a multi-cloud environment – AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, AliCloud, SAP Data Center & in a Hybrid Deployment [Cloud & On-Premise]. It provides the required visibility & control to consume and monetize APIs with real-time analytics. SAP is evolving its API Platform with significant investments in API-led Integration, AI Gateway, MCP Gateway, Intelligent API Ops – Machine Learning based anomaly detection and remediation, Kubernetes based Provisioning, and in best-in-class experience to explore, discover and consume the AI Agent ready APIs via API Marketplace. As a Product Manager for the API Management Team(s), you will define, own and evolve our API management strategy and work closely with Development Team(s), which will work on a specific capability area – runtime, design-time, analytics, AI - of API Management. Having a passion for product definition as well as curiosity for latest technologies to build and run state-of-the-art market leading API Management with your team would be an ideal combination for this role. The aim of this role is to drive the future success of API Management in Integration Suite by leveraging the new harmonized product operating model (HPOM) and team up closely with different roles, for example, with Development Managers, Architects, Developers and UX Designers. This role will partner closely with engineering, security, and platform teams to drive API design, governance, and lifecycle management. Success in this role requires strong product thinking, technical fluency in APIs, and a passion for enabling seamless integrations. The candidate shall exhibit strong technical expertise, excellent product judgment, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, security, and business stakeholders.In Your Role You Will
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for the API management platform, including API gateways, developer portals, and lifecycle tools
- Define and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for API management product features
- Partner with engineering teams to drive API design standards, versioning, documentation, and governance
- Drive efficient discovery and delivery using AI (research, prioritization, insights) while keeping human interactions; also expected to have code generation skills.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and platform teams to ensure APIs meet authentication, authorization, and regulatory requirements
- Gather and synthesize feedback from internal teams, partners, and developers to continuously improve the product experience
- Monitor product performance, usage, reliability, and adoption using metrics and analytics
- Lead cross-functional planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination
- Evangelize API management best practices and promote a strong developer-first mindset across the organization
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.Tech or M.Tech) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role delivering API platforms, developer tools, or large-scale technical products
- Strong technical acumen to define product vision, translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements, and drive prioritized execution
- Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures, with experience building or managing scalable, enterprise-grade platforms
- Customer- and developer-centric mindset, with the ability to identify user needs, pain points, and workflows and convert them into impactful product capabilities
- Experience defining product roadmaps and features using customer feedback, platform usage data, and business outcomes
- Strong data-driven approach, leveraging metrics and analytics to inform product decisions, measure success, and continuously improve product value
- Experience working on API visibility, observability, and analytics, including usage insights, performance metrics, error analysis, and adoption trends
- Ability to define and track API KPIs such as traffic, latency, reliability, consumer behavior, and business impact to enable actionable insights
- Experience collaborating with engineering and platform teams to design analytics, dashboards, and reporting capabilities for internal teams and API consumers
- Ability to balance customer needs, technical feasibility, and long-term platform scalability while making sound product trade-off decisions
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders across engineering, architecture, security, and business functions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

This includes SAP Integration Suite on the Business Technology Platform, which is offering integration capabilities for heterogenous and hybrid landscapes of our enterprise customers, such as A2A and B2B integrations, API Management, Event based Integrations, and integrating with non-SAP applications. We are delivering into and operating 20k plus customers, both direct customers using SAP's integration platform, as well as customers using our technology indirectly via embedment into SAP cloud applications.
