Meet the team

The Cloud ERP Private Product Management team's mission is to support our extensive customer base in their transformation journeys to the private cloud, thereby growing SAP's core business as a market leader. We collaborate closely with our engineering and product marketing teams, as well as with customers and partners, to continuously enhance our Cloud ERP Private offering. Product Management acts as the authoritative voice for customer challenges, evangelizing an outcome-based product vision and roadmap that genuinely solves pain points by creating delightful products serving SAP’s needs. Within our cross-functional product management team, we lead strategic initiatives across our Cloud ERP Private portfolio and assist our largest, most influential customers to ensure swift adoption.

The Role

You will serve as a senior authority for AI within Cloud ERP Private, establishing the vision, architecture, and execution strategy for infusing trustworthy, high-impact AI into our products and operations. This role demands a blend of hands-on technical depth and executive influence to shape strategy, cultivate partner ecosystems, and deliver production-grade AI capabilities that significantly improve customer outcomes and business performance. Specifically, you will:

• Serve as the Chief Expert for AI across Cloud ERP Private, providing advice to senior leadership and guiding cross-portfolio decisions.
• Define, socialize, and execute the multi-year AI strategy and roadmap, encompassing platform, product, and operational workstreams.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize high-value AI use cases end-to-end (considering business value, feasibility, risk, and time-to-impact), driving them from concept to scaled adoption.
• Evolve the AI operating model, including intake and portfolio governance, architectural standards, playbooks, evaluation frameworks, and SDLC/MLOps integration.
• Lead the strategic evaluation and selection of third-party foundation models, cloud AI services, and open-source components; negotiate and manage long-term partnerships and licensing.
• Provide technical leadership for LLMs and agentic systems (covering prompting, fine-tuning, tool use, RAG, guardrails, observability, cost/performance optimization).
• Act as an expert on demand for our high-performing team of AI Experts and AI Developers; establish communities of practice and enablement programs across engineering and product.
• Drive thought leadership in enterprise agentic AI through patents, open-source contributions, conference talks, and publications.
• Establish and enforce responsible AI governance: policies, risk management, privacy, security, safety, model evaluation, and audit readiness in alignment with global regulations.
• Lead AI change management and enablement for product, engineering, services, and go-to-market teams; create training, playbooks, and adoption programs for customers and partners.
• Partner with Product Marketing and Customer Success to define value hypotheses, success metrics, packaging, and commercial models for AI capabilities.
• Represent Cloud ERP Private in executive forums, customer briefings, standards bodies, and the broader AI ecosystem.

Role Requirements And Work Experience

• In-depth knowledge of SAP’s AI portfolio.
• Change Management & Customer Success: Proven success in guiding organizations through impactful digital transformations and leading change management initiatives to support adoption.
• Cross Industry Expertise / Exposure: Cross-industry expertise with deep knowledge in at least one industry.
• Proven competencies and strong domain background in Cloud ERP software.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with proven experience in working on complex topics.
• Strong communication skills with customers, partners, executive-level stakeholders, and internal functions like engineering, user experience, and product marketing.
• Very good team player, strong networking skills, and driver mentality with a strong business acumen and outcome-driven mindset.
• Passion for technology, innovation, and user-centric product development, with demonstrable success in previous positions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (C1 Level) in English is a must.
• 15+ years relevant work experience in the software industry, preferably in Product Management, Product Engineering, or Product Marketing.
• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or PhD degree is a plus.
