What You'll Do as an Associate Data Engineer
As an Associate Data Engineer in the GCG Content Infrastructure & Automation (CIA) team, you will contribute significantly to the Semantic Data Layer (SDL) and the GCG Knowledge Graph. Your responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data integration, transformation, and analytics solutions for GCG’s Content Infrastructure.
- Build robust ETL pipelines and automate data workflows leveraging Python and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain data models for new data sources to be embedded within the GCG Knowledge Graph.
- Engage directly with stakeholders across functions and geographies to gather requirements and align technical delivery with strategic objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to project teams, mentoring developers, and promoting best practices in software design and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with SAP product teams, partners, and customers to continuously improve content ingestion, metadata modeling, and knowledge graph integration.
What You Bring
To succeed in this Associate Data Engineer role, candidates should possess:
- 1-4 years of overall experience in software development.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with practical experience developing ETL frameworks and automation tools.
- Experience with knowledge graphs, particularly the Resource Description Framework (RDF).
- Knowledge in pipeline engineering, particularly ETL processes.
- Knowledge of unit testing practices to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for technology, innovation, and team collaboration.
- Interest in academia (particularly data management and AI).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
