Data Scientist/Risk Model Analyst

Santander Nordics is seeking a Data Scientist/Risk Model Analyst to join the Nordic Advanced Analytics and Risk Modeling Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply analytics for profitable and responsible lending, contributing to the growth of analytics-based decision-making.

About the Team

The Advanced Analytics and Risk Modelling team collaborates with Risk teams across the Nordics. Their primary focus is on developing and monitoring model developments and controls to the highest standards, ensuring consistent governance across all products and countries. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Development of regulatory parameter models (IRB PD, LGD, EAD).
  • Development of scoring and rating models for underwriting, customer behavior, fraud, and collections.
  • Development of parameter models for expected credit losses (PD, LGD, EAD).
  • Development of Stress Test Models.
  • Model management, planning, and governance.
  • Innovation initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and credit risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver state-of-the-art models in a timely manner.
  • Improve model calibration, stability, and predictive power through re-calibrations, adjustments, and re-developments.
  • Perform challenger modeling on projects.
  • Monitor and back-test assigned models.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand business needs and data, ensuring clear communication.
  • Undertake ad-hoc reporting and analytical tasks.

Your Profile

  • University degree in a numerate subject.
  • Curious, passionate, humble, and analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
  • Theoretical and applied knowledge of modeling approaches like Logistic Regression, CHAID/CART, and Random Forest.
  • Ability to embrace change, improve, and innovate.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Motivated and assertive self-driver, willing to go the extra mile.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and proactive attitude.
  • Team player.

Extra Advantages

  • Experience with Admission, Behaviour, or Parameter Models is preferred.
