Senior Mendix Developer

About the Role

As a Senior Mendix Developer at Sanquin, you will be an integral part of the ICT department's Applications team. Your day will begin with a daily stand-up meeting with fellow Mendix colleagues to discuss ongoing tasks and set daily priorities. Following this, you'll participate in a team-wide stand-up to ensure alignment across all team members. Throughout the day, you will engage in code reviews, address tickets, and collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, UX designers, and architects to discuss new functionalities. This is a challenging and dynamic role with plenty of opportunities to contribute.

Team and Work Environment

You will join a team of approximately 75 colleagues within the ICT department, focused on delivering innovative IT solutions to the entire organization. You will report to the Manager Applications and work collaboratively with a medior and junior Mendix developer, backend developers, a tester, a business analyst, a product owner, and a UX designer. Sanquin embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to work partly from home and partly from our headquarters in Amsterdam-West.

Your Contribution and Value

Your deep knowledge of Mendix will be crucial in building reliable and future-proof applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of data and processes, making sure that applications effectively meet the needs of users and the organization. As a technical authority within the team, you will translate complex functional requirements into robust and scalable Mendix solutions. You will work closely with business analysts, Azure, architects, and stakeholders to bring new functionalities to life. Your experience and insights will significantly contribute to the quality and future-proofing of our applications.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with the Mendix platform.
• Advanced or Expert Mendix certification.
• Proficiency in complex integrations via REST.
• Experience beyond low-code, including Java, JavaScript, and CSS.
• A desire to coach junior developers and elevate the team's technical standards.
• HBO/WO work and thinking level in ICT.
• SCRUM certification is a plus.
• Experience with integrations and services, JSON/XML.
• Experience with CI/CD and Git is a plus.
• Experience in guiding developers and documentation management.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Analytical, independent, accurate, and solution-oriented mindset.
