Our Team
The CMC Project and Portfolio Management Team plays a critical role in ensuring that the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) aspects of pharmaceutical development are managed efficiently across Sanofi's portfolio. This includes managing transversal CMC projects portfolio, implementing and overseeing efficient strategies, managing adherence to CMC governance and prioritization, ensuring cross-GBU CMC interface, and implementing best practices through CMC process improvement.
Join our global Global CMC Project management organization (PMO) as an R&D CMC Portfolio Operations Specialist, a support role for the Head of Project and Portfolio Management. You will be responsible for operational excellence, process optimization, and administrative coordination to ensure sufficient portfolio management activities.
Main Responsibilities
Data management
- Support the development of data management strategies and lead its implementation
- Maintaining collaborative databases across the portfolio ensuring proper document control and accessibility
- Documents in scope: agenda, presentations, meeting minutes, lessons learned
Governance bodies management
- Support Head of Project and Portfolio Management in administering CMC Governance organization
- Committees in scope: CMC Board, CMC Pipeline Committee, CMC Technical reviews, IDCC briefings
- Ensure process adherence & maintenance involved in all steps of existing processes and provide recommendations for governance process improvements
- Coordinate cross-functional meeting calendars and ensure appropriate scheduling of governance meetings
Portfolio Operations support
- Maintenance of portfolio development dashboards and support analytics
- Assist in tracking and monitoring CMC projects across the portfolio
- Collect and compile data for portfolio reviews and status reports
- Prepare regular reporting on portfolio performance metrics
- Systems in scope: CMC aBinder, iPORT, RDPM
Project management systems
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for PMO processes
- Maintain and update the CMC handbook with latest processes, templates, and best practices, harmonized editorial layout
- Support the Head of Project and Portfolio Management to maintain project management tools, databases, and reporting systems
- Support the Head of Project and Portfolio Management in implementing of project management standards and templates
- Assist project teams with documentation requirements and process adherence as needed
- Apply a proactive approach to process improvement
Training and team interaction
- Train team members on PMO processes and support onboarding of new team members
- Troubleshoot issues and provide user support for project management systems
- Cross-functional coordination: liaise with stakeholders from R&D, Quality, Manufacturing
About You
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry, and experience in project support, operations, or related roles
- Experience leading small workstreams
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical mindset with proactive problem-solving orientation and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong organizational management skills including experience with project management tools and methodologies
- Experience in change management with influencing skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on complex projects
- Ability to represent the PMO in cross-functional workstreams
Technical Skills
- Confident user of digital tools, platforms, and data-driven solutions, open to AI
- Digital proficiency: advanced MS Excel, skills including Power Query, experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting, knowledge of Power Automate or Power Apps for process automation
- Demonstrate experience in process optimization and implementation
Education
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Business Administration, or Engineering preferred)
- Project Management certification is advantageous
Languages: Fluent English skills (both verbal and written)
