Service Engineer at Sandvik

At Sandvik Mining, we deliver pioneering products and solutions to our global customers within the mining and construction segment. Our Surface Drilling Division, where intelligent surface drill rigs bring the latest technology, is strengthening its Technical Support team. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Service Engineer for a full-time and permanent position in Tampere (Myllypuro), Finland.

As a Service Engineer, you will provide expert technical assistance to our global customers, distributors, and field service teams. Your work is crucial in ensuring high uptime, performance, and reliability of our surface drilling equipment. This role blends hands-on technical work with modern digital tools. With the industry's evolution, digitalization and electrification are core to our support strategy. You will contribute by supporting connected equipment, telemetry solutions, analytics-driven diagnostics, and new electrified technologies.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support in commissioning, maintenance, and complex repair activities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Document findings, prepare technical reports, and enhance service knowledge resources.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of backline support processes and ways of working to ensure efficiency, consistency, and high-quality technical support.
  • Monitor and respond to the ticketing system, ensuring timely updates, clear communication, and proper prioritization of support requests.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication with both design engineering and frontline teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, product management, testing, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote and ensure safe working methods in all tasks.

Your Background And What We Find Important

  • Degree or background in mechanical, electrical, automation, or similar technical field.
  • Hands-on understanding of heavy machinery, hydraulics, control systems, or mobile equipment.
  • Interest or experience in digitalization, telemetry, automation, or connected equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and diagnostics data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Good communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
