The Role
Reporting into the S&P Global Ratings’ Head of Internal Communications, this role will help execute the Ratings Communications Team's internal communications strategy across the global employee population. You will help the Ratings Communications team and senior stakeholders create, execute, and manage internal communication strategies while highlighting our culture, promoting our values, and enhancing internal understanding of our division's strategy.
The Team
You will be part of a global, dynamic Communications team that is deeply committed to the work we do, the value we bring to our stakeholders, and to supporting each other. As a geographically distributed team, we embrace a global mindset and collaborate seamlessly across time zones to deliver exceptional communications that align with S&P Global's mission and values. You will be part strategist, part tactician, with attention to detail and the ability to manage and execute communications plans. We are seeking an excellent writer and storyteller who can operate in a fast-paced environment to develop effective, executive-ready content and act as a trusted communication partner. Being comfortable with GenAI and AI tools is a must.
Responsibilities and Impact
- Help execute internal communications that align with Ratings' internal messaging and tone, including business and cultural priorities, and ensure they are consistent with the enterprise.
- Serve as a key writer on the team: draft communications on behalf of leaders, write engaging stories for the intranet, produce newsletters, and execute on communications plans for key initiatives and major internal milestones.
- Plan and prepare effective, thoughtful, and engaging communications that educate, inform, connect, and inspire employees.
- Proactively use in-house GenAI and other purpose-specific communications tools and software, and explore new tools that help enhance our internal communications processes.
- Partner with fellow team members and senior stakeholders to coordinate communications plans, town halls, fireside chats, roundtables, and other internal events, and formulate FAQs, key messages, and other internal resources, as guided by the Head of Internal Comms.
- Work with a global mindset that is educated and sensitive to geographic and cultural differences.
- Be a proactive team player who is able to take broad concepts and minimal direction to execute multichannel, dynamic communications plans.
Functional & Business Knowledge
- Understanding of the global financial markets or a willingness to learn and understand the S&P Global Ratings business.
- Excellent written and oral communication, editing, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with employees across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work within a team across multiple time zones, balancing competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
- Ability to own tasks and projects start to finish with minimal oversight, know when to escalate challenges, and produce a finished project that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Out-of-the-box thinking to determine the best channel to use for any kind of messaging – with an eye to developing new channels as needed.
- Be agile, collaborative, transparent, and assume positive intent across the team and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
