The Data Researcher, Public Ownership role at S&P Global focuses on providing clients with the most accurate and timely data on public ownership. The team's mission involves studying market legislation and public financial data sources to build repeatable processes and deliver new solutions.

The Team

The ownership team is dedicated to providing clients with highly accurate and timely data through S&P Global's platform. The team studies market legislation and various public financial data sources, collaborating with the tech team to build repeatable processes and deliver innovative solutions. Success is measured by expanding data coverage and enhancing collection procedures.

Responsibilities and Impact

As a Data Researcher, Public Ownership, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and comprehensiveness of essential data sets that clients rely on for informed decision-making. Your responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing internal and external public research sources, such as government and regulatory documents, stock exchanges, industry journals, analyst reports, and internal research tools, to collect, summarize, and synthesize relevant information.
  • Collecting country-specific financial reports pertinent to Ownership data in a timely manner.
  • Fixing data errors as needed and defining country-specific policies in collaboration with the Quality Control team.
  • Participating in cross-team and cross-location projects to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ideating and executing process improvement projects to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborating with other Collection Teams, Data Management, and global teams to foster diversity and achieve shared objectives.
  • Staying informed about updated guidelines and policies relevant to data collection and financial markets.
  • Delivering on predefined individual and team targets with a focus on quality and excellence.
  • Escalating concerns promptly and through the correct channels of communication.

  • Relevant experience in finance and data research/collection.
  • An analytical mindset and strong logical reasoning abilities.
  • Technical skills in Pathfinder and MS Excel are an advantage.
  • Attention to detail, flexibility, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to detect issues and propose effective solutions.
  • This role is open for both fresh graduates and candidates with prior work experience.
