POSITION SUMMARY
As a Nurse Payroll / Scheduler, you will be responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing coverage and maintaining accurate scheduling and payroll records within the Nursing Department. This on-site role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and organizational skills to directly support patient care operations and team effectiveness across the campus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review timesheets, work schedules, and related records to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Compile payroll data, including hours worked, from timesheets and correct errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Monitor electronic timekeeping systems for errors in punches, hours worked, and meal breaks.
- Follow up with staff regarding missing punches and confirm authorized versus unauthorized overtime.
- Track and maintain accurate records of vacation, PTO, leaves of absence (LOA), medical leave, workers’ compensation, and non-workers’ compensation absences.
- Ensure all leave time is accurately reflected on daily and monthly schedules.
- Prepare and update daily and monthly staff schedules for Unit Managers.
- Fill open shifts for LVNs and CNAs to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Call replacement staff when employees report absences.
- Maintain and update the Nursing Department staff directory, including contact information and employee status.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff at all levels.
JOB DETAILS
- Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.
- Previous scheduling, payroll, or staffing experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to occasionally move throughout the facility to coordinate staffing need
