Job Overview
The Compliance Specialist at Samsung Research America (SRA) supports the legal team by collaborating with business leaders on corporate and regulatory compliance, privacy laws, and ethical considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform compliance and privacy risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities.
- Establish, coordinate, and implement ethics and compliance initiatives.
- Manage and align SRA policies with Samsung HQ and North America HQ.
- Partner with attorneys to support privacy in commercial agreements.
- Develop and deliver compliance training for SRA employees.
- Audit internal processes and coordinate responses with the General Counsel.
- Compile data and prepare compliance reports for HQ and internal teams.
- Assist with litigation document organization and coordinate vendor use with Procurement.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in a compliance/risk management role.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and global compliance, ethics, and privacy issues.
- Excellent issue spotting, judgment, and discretion skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Special Attributes
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Compliance certification (e.g., CCEP) and experience in multinational organizations.
- Experience in a Legal Department of a technology company.
- Bilingual in English and Korean.
