Job Description

About Samsara

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, a platform enabling organizations reliant on physical operations to leverage Internet of Things (IoT) data for actionable insights and operational improvements. At Samsara, we are committed to enhancing the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the physical operations that drive our global economy. These industries, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing, account for over 40% of global GDP and represent the very infrastructure of our planet. We are excited to contribute to their digital transformation at scale.

Working at Samsara means you will help shape the future of physical operations and be part of a team developing an exciting range of product solutions, such as Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As a recently public company, you will have the autonomy and support to make a significant impact as we build for the long term.

About the Business Operations Manager, GTM Role

Samsara's Go-to-Market Business Operations team is seeking curious, motivated, and high-impact professionals. Our primary goal is to accelerate revenue growth by enhancing the sales performance and efficiency of our Sales teams. We operate as a highly collaborative unit, partnering with sales leaders and cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious revenue targets, ensure sustainable organizational scaling, and proactively address GTM challenges and opportunities.

Our team is dedicated to delivering an outsized impact on Samsara, a goal we achieve through rigorous and continuous skill development.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US, with the exception of the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

You Should Apply If:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will have real-world implications, helping to keep essential services running, deliver food to stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you might engage with someone in waste management, and the next, you could be exploring the intricacies of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members are driven to understand the businesses they support to maximize their impact.
  • You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have historically relied on traditional, often manual, solutions. Our customers value trust and human relationships built over time, especially when adopting new technology.
  • You want to be with the best: Samsara's high-performance culture means you will be surrounded by top talent and challenged to exceed your previous achievements.
  • You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a collaborative effort. We support each other by sharing best practices and focusing on collective success.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Sales Planning, Sales Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights into business drivers, financial performance, and risks.
  • Develop and lead high-visibility initiatives designed to scale performance and productivity, contributing directly to sales growth targets.
  • Analyze and diagnose sales team performance, taking ownership of analytical models and sources of insights, including performance forecasting and productivity models.
  • Support ongoing business activities and the creation of executive materials such as memos, slides, business reviews, and executive presentations.
  • Identify potential risks to growth goals and formulate action plans to effectively mitigate those risks.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as the company expands globally and into new offices.

Minimum Requirements for the Role:

  • 4-7 years of professional experience in a management consulting firm and/or in a Sales Operations, Business Operations, or Financial Analyst capacity.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the proven ability to independently manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Advanced decision-making, analytical, and logical reasoning skills, including the ability to be proactive and adapt rapidly to changing circumstances.
  • A kind and collaborative approach, energized by working with diverse individuals across various teams (a good sense of humor is highly valued).
  • Deep comfort with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Salesforce, Google Sheets, Databricks) and/or a strong willingness to develop new skills to tackle complex problems.
  • Experience collaborating with sales leadership and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and genuine enthusiasm for enhancing efficiencies to boost sales.
  • Full fluency in English.

An Ideal Candidate Also Has:

  • An insatiable drive and commitment to personal growth.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and honesty; we value open debate and find losing a debate to a compelling argument as exciting as winning one.
  • Familiarity with the evolving AI tool environment and a curiosity to experiment with leveraging AI to solve business problems.
