Overview

Samaritan's Purse is seeking medical professionals for its Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART). The team responds rapidly to crises including war, poverty, famine, disease, and natural disasters, providing critical medical care along with water, food, and shelter while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Roles & Responsibilities

The DART program is recruiting the following roles:

  • Orthopedic Surgeon: Provides pre-op, surgical, and post-op care for musculoskeletal trauma.
  • Trauma/General Surgeon: Offers comprehensive surgical care for trauma and emergency cases.
  • Emergency Medicine Physician: Delivers clinical care in emergency and triage settings.
  • Critical Care Physician: Cares for ICU-level patients during high acuity responses.
  • Internal Medicine Physician: Manages patient care across varied settings including mobile units.
  • OB/GYN: Evaluates and cares for pregnant and gynecological patients.
  • Pediatrician: Provides care for pediatric patients in both clinics and hospitals.
  • Anesthesiologist: Administers anesthesia and respiratory care for surgical patients.

Qualifications

Candidates must maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as a consistent witness. Requirements include:

  • Post-residency with a minimum of two years experience as a physician.
  • Active U.S. licensure and relevant clinical experience in the past five years.
  • Willingness to deploy on short notice for 3-4 weeks, 1-2 times per year.
  • Ability to work in challenging conditions and cross-cultural teams.
  • Travel, volunteer, or work experience in developing countries.
  • Teaching experience is a plus, but not required.

Job Details

This is an on-call, intermittent role. During deployment, compensation, living, and travel costs are covered. Members continue their regular careers when not deployed.
