Overview
The Staffing Coordinator at Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet provides essential staffing and scheduling support for the Nursing Administration department. The role involves working with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Department Leadership to create, review, and adjust schedules in compliance with hospital policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule staffing shifts in a productive, cost-effective manner.
- Monitor daily staffing needs and make real-time adjustments by flexing, floating, or scheduling replacements.
- Participate in hospital position control meetings and collaborate with C-Suite executives.
- Forecast staffing requirements to avoid emergency shortages.
- Review supplemental agency personnel requirements and manage the Vendor Management System (VMS) records.
- Ensure compliance of incoming agency personnel and reconcile invoices with Finance.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong interpersonal communication is essential. Healthcare experience, preferably in an acute care setting, is a plus.
