Job Opportunity: Systems Engineer at SAIC
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an elite team providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in Springfield, VA. The role supports multiple ground system projects, overseeing strategic to tactical issues and ensuring successful system integration and transition to support operational missions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities.
- Collaborate with SE&I teams and document site baseline processes.
- Work with System Program Offices, local operations teams, and other government agencies to integrate GEOINT space missions into a ground architecture.
- Develop and implement standards, processes, and operations & maintenance plans.
- Review technical documentation and provide recommendations at various forums.
- Serve as liaison between GPOC and project managers, monitoring progress.
- Occasional CONUS travel.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship with active TS/SCI and CI polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years experience or Master’s in STEM with 3+ years.
- Expertise in full system engineering lifecycle from concept to operational maintenance.
- Experience in project management supporting system integration and mission applications.
- Proven ability to work independently on multiple government projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with senior government managers.
- Consensus building and collaborative coordination with multiple stakeholders.
Desired Skills
- Real-time operations experience as a SIGINT/GEOINT spacecraft operator or ground systems operator.
- Familiarity with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, and cloud technologies.
