Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an elite team in Springfield, VA. The role involves providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services across multiple ground system projects from strategic to tactical levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Engineer and government staff with systems engineering and integration activities.
  • Execute site system engineering processes to manage and document site baselines.
  • Collaborate with System Program Offices, local teams, and government agencies to integrate GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture.
  • Develop standards, processes, procedures, and operations & maintenance plans.
  • Review technical documentation including RFCs, CONOPS, requirements, and risk analyses.
  • Represent government interests in various forums and provide technical analysis and recommendations.
  • Act as liaison between GPOC and project managers for progress monitoring.
  • Occasional travel within CONUS.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance and CI polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years or Master’s degree in STEM with 3+ years experience.
  • Expertise in the full system engineering life cycle.
  • Experience in project management supporting system delivery, integration, and transition.
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to brief senior government managers.
  • Strong collaborative skills and consensus building among multiple stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Real-time operations experience with SIGINT or GEOINT spacecraft or ground systems.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, and cloud technologies.
