Original Job Summary

Overview

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on DevOps methodologies to join our IT team in a hybrid-remote role. You must be local to the Ashburn, VA area and work on-site 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of integrated systems solutions.
  • Develop and maintain automation workflows for build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines for streamlined operations.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and IT teams for high-quality software delivery.
  • Conduct systems analysis to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Ensure alignment with industry best practices and compliance standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on DevOps tools and share knowledge across teams.
  • Monitor systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement strategic solutions.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in DevOps.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and management APIs.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven project leadership and mentorship abilities.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Certifications in DevOps or cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years experience in systems integration and automation in a DevOps culture; or Master's with 3+ years experience; or PhD with no experience required.

BI Requirement

Current DHS Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one is required. Employment is contingent upon clearance approval prior to starting.
