Overview
Join SAIC’s Space and Intelligence Business Group as a Satellite Systems Engineer. Located in Chantilly, VA, this role supports a multi-year, cutting-edge space program for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.
Role Responsibilities
- Serve as the Program Office technical lead for satellite system design, development, and integration.
- Translate mission requirements into detailed technical specifications and perform trade studies.
- Develop and manage the overall system architecture, including space and ground segments.
- Provide technical oversight to contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Oversee integration, environmental testing, and risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customers to align systems with mission objectives.
- Evaluate contractor performance and recommend improvements during milestone reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Experience with DOD or Intelligence Community programs.
- Bachelor's with 14 years or Master's with 12 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 6 years experience in a satellite program as lead system engineer or SME.
- Excellent interpersonal, briefing, and writing skills for diverse audiences.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related STEM field; advanced degrees considered.
- Deep knowledge of satellite subsystems including ADCS, power, propulsion, communications, and thermal control.
