Overview
SAIC is searching for an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Systems Engineer to join our team at Nellis AFB, NV or Point Mugu, CA. The role supports the US Navy Jammer Technique Optimization (JATO) Group for Electronic Support (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA) capability development.
Responsibilities
- Contribute unique concepts to a technical roadmap for RF technology capabilities on US Navy airborne stand-off/support jamming platforms.
- Apply RF/microwave principles along with system and subsystem-level analysis methodologies.
- Collaborate across teams, using strong verbal and written communication to develop requirements and present results.
- Develop and execute experiments to assess subsystem effectiveness in lab and field environments, including military service-level events.
- Assist in developing tools such as Target Return Emulators, Software Defined Radios, and automation software to support experimentation.
- Establish guiding principles for jammers and receivers in stand-off jamming applications.
- Utilize RF/microwave test equipment for data collection and analysis.
- Apply Systems Engineering practices to develop requirements and perform trade studies for large naval EW acquisition programs.
- Travel domestically or internationally to support collaborations, experimentation, and customer meetings.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of experience; four (4) years may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills
- Experience in Electromagnetic Warfare engineering.
- Defining, refining, and analyzing requirements to support the systems engineering process.
- Programming with MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Required Clearance
Must have an active Top Secret SCI security clearance.
Desired Experience
- FPGA programming in Electronic Warfare.
- Defining and refining requirements with Cameo (or similar) using SYSML.
- DRFM system design.
- Fundamental Radar and/or Communications Systems knowledge.
