Overview

SAIC's Horizon program is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Space Forces mission by delivering warfighter capability through the Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power and Battle Management, Command, Control and Communications weapon system portfolios. Work is based out of the El Segundo, California office.

Role Details

The Systems Engineer will work on systems integration and engineering across space-based and ground systems, including Command & Control services. You will provide expertise from concept development to operations, offering technical oversight of design, development, testing, production, and sustainment efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering expertise across the entire lifecycle.
• Offer technical oversight for hardware/software and space/ground integration.
• Develop operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs.
• Conduct model-based systems engineering, simulation, and analysis.
• Manage configuration and risk management processes and methods.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline and nine (9) or more years of relevant experience. Must have experience leading hardware/software integration, using model-based systems engineering tools, and implementing Agile/DevOps processes. Security clearance eligibility (T5 or SSBI with SCI eligibility) is required, and candidates must be willing to undergo additional screening, including a Polygraph examination.

Desired Skills

• Advanced degree in engineering, science, or related field.
• Experience within the National Security Space or Space Control mission area.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government weapons system program offices.
• Professional certifications such as PE, INCOSE CSEP, ITEA CTEP, Agile PM/PO.
