Overview
SAIC seeks an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force and Space Systems Command. The role involves operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions.
Job Duties
- Perform electrical and mechanical (signal, power & thermal) analysis of systems and components.
- Generate engineering drawings per ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
- Develop CDRLs, DALs, specifications, schematics, wire lists, interface design requirements, technical data packages, and training materials.
- Analyze supplier LRUs, review step-files and 3D models for compliance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot systems and subsystems to the component level and execute repairs.
- Design and develop replacement F3I systems and forward thinking solutions to address new threats.
- Provide lab and site integration, testing, maintenance support, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with engineers for system integration and sustainment support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor1 in Electrical Engineering and over 5 years of experience.
- Active Secret Clearance is required.
- Proven experience in the engineering life cycle of system development and modification.
- Strong background in designing, testing, and supporting complex hardware systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience sustaining GBRs or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radars (e.g., PARCS, UEWR).
- Understanding of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission.
- Preferred experience in RADAR design.
