Overview

SAIC seeks an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force and Space Systems Command. The role involves operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions.

Job Duties

  • Perform electrical and mechanical (signal, power & thermal) analysis of systems and components.
  • Generate engineering drawings per ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
  • Develop CDRLs, DALs, specifications, schematics, wire lists, interface design requirements, technical data packages, and training materials.
  • Analyze supplier LRUs, review step-files and 3D models for compliance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot systems and subsystems to the component level and execute repairs.
  • Design and develop replacement F3I systems and forward thinking solutions to address new threats.
  • Provide lab and site integration, testing, maintenance support, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with engineers for system integration and sustainment support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor1 in Electrical Engineering and over 5 years of experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Proven experience in the engineering life cycle of system development and modification.
  • Strong background in designing, testing, and supporting complex hardware systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience sustaining GBRs or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radars (e.g., PARCS, UEWR).
  • Understanding of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission.
  • Preferred experience in RADAR design.
