Part-Time Remote Math Tutor at Saga Education

Saga Education is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Part-Time Remote Math Tutors. This role involves providing high-impact, individualized math instruction to middle and high school students during the school day. As a Part-Time Remote Math Tutor, you will play a crucial role in accelerating student outcomes, building confidence, and fostering a sense of belonging through academic support and mentorship.

This position is part-time, with hours varying based on school district needs, and is entirely remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the U.S. 50 states.

Our Tutors

Our Math Tutors come from diverse backgrounds across the United States, each contributing unique skills to support students in mathematics. We are looking for talented, caring, and capable individuals who are committed to the academic and social development of our students.

The Process

Applicants will undergo Saga’s interview and vetting process. Successful candidates will be added to our National Tutor Pool. From this pool, tutors are matched with remote part-time tutoring opportunities as they become available and align with their submitted availability. Please note that placement from the National Tutor Pool is not immediate but ensures qualified tutors can be quickly connected with openings.

What You’ll Do

When assigned to a tutoring opportunity for the 26/27 school year, Part-Time Remote Math Tutors will manage a small caseload of middle or high school students. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide daily individualized math tutoring to assigned students across multiple class periods, utilizing Saga Connect and/or district-provided platforms.
  • Prepare for sessions using Saga Curriculum or resources supplied by the school/district.
  • Input and analyze student data to differentiate instruction and adapt lessons as needed, under guidance from management or school staff.
  • Collaborate with managers, teachers, or school staff to obtain materials, ensure lesson alignment, and review student notes.
  • Navigate various technologies, including hardware and software, and troubleshoot technical issues proactively.
  • Regularly check and respond to emails to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Act as an advocate and mentor, building strong, meaningful relationships with students.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Part-Time Remote Math Tutor role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen residing within the U.S. 50 states during the background screening, onboarding, and throughout employment.
  • Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Successfully clear a Criminal History Check and all other security and health requirements mandated by Saga Education and the assigned school district.
  • Maintain an on-camera presence during tutoring sessions and other essential activities.
  • Have access to a quiet workspace conducive to effective tutoring.
  • Possess personal, reliable high-speed internet for video conferencing.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and self-starter abilities.
