The Role: Test Bench Engineer - Automation and Electrotechnics
Within the test facilities team of Safran Transmission Systems' test department, your mission will be to ensure the development of the control/command and acquisition parts of test benches, either for targeted interventions or within a project framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and carry out electrical (power / measurement), functional, network/data, and then organic architecture studies.
- Support functional analyses and formalize them with the relevant business lines.
- Develop and test PLC programs based on the preceding functional analyses.
- Create preliminary designs for cabinets/enclosures/harnesses for specification purposes to a panel of suppliers.
- Undertake pre-dimensioning calculations / electrical verifications.
- Prepare and support technical reviews in accordance with the company's development process to justify the design and/or architecture.
- Create 2D plans/diagrams for networks, architectures, and, on an ad-hoc basis, electrical schematics using SEE Electrical.
- Monitor manufacturing and handle deviations if necessary.
- Monitor and validate programs developed externally.
- Manage assembly and ensure on-site commissioning.
- Specify, consult, and manage an outsourced study or realization within cost and deadline objectives. This can extend to realization and acceptance at the subcontractor's site and then on-site. In this situation, you will also be responsible for technically managing and receiving deliverables from subcontractors (technical validation).
The main mission is therefore in the automation and electrotechnical domains, with a strong system component and a partial project and steering component in these areas.
On an ad-hoc basis, the mission will also involve participating in various internal technical discussions (brainstorming, support to colleagues, 8D, etc.).
Required Profile
- Initial BAC+5 education (Master's degree) in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Computing, Electrotechnics, or Automation.
- Solid experience (over 5 years) in these fields in an industrial environment, ideally in testing or special machinery.
- Technical knowledge in electrical systems, industrial computing, and automation.
- Good multidisciplinary technical culture (mechanics, hydraulics, electrotechnics, IT, automation) to understand the overall functioning of machines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Visio) is required.
- Knowledge of SEE Electrical Expert and industrial PLC programming languages (PL7/UnityPro and Step7/Tia Portal) is a plus.
